Opus 90
Signed, Sealed and “Soon” to be Delivered…
IPC has successfully signed a contract with the prestigious Dobson Pipe Organ Builders, Ltd. of Iowa to build our Joseph W. Schreiber Memorial Organ! Dobson designated our organ their “OPUS 90” and the detailed specifications of the new 3-manual, 6-division, 82-rank, 4785-pipe instrument can be perused on their website www.dobsonorgan.com.
While the Dobson studio begins building the organ in Iowa, we here at IPC will be concluding a $1.8 million capital campaign (fall 2010) to provide for speaking pipes in the new organ façade and to complete the necessary sanctuary renovations and preparations to receive the new organ in 2012.
We thank the members of the Organ Task Force, the House and Properties Committee, the Worship Committee, Music Committee, Fine Arts Committee, Finance Committee and SPOT (Sanctuary Project Oversight Task Group) as well as the members of Session for leading us through the necessary years of study, prayer, discernment, and discussion that have brought us to this significant time in the life of IPC.
